Handmade modern guitar pick made of one of the most durable plastics on the market – Torlon PAI 4203 – in three versions to choose from. Provides very good grip thanks to the special sticker with my logo. A very comfortable, long-lasting and good sounding gift for a guitarist.

Available Variants

  • Teardrop – pointed tip and sharp edges: Length: 37mm, Width: 27mm
  • Jazz (rounded) – rounded edges and tip: Length: 35mm, Width: 27mm
  • Jazz (flat) – flat edges and rounded tip: Length: 35mm, Width: 27mm

Handcrafted plectrum (sawn, carved, shaped and polished) using only workshop power tools.

Why Non-Standard Thickness?

The large thickness minimizes movement, increases precision, strength and speed. Playing the guitar requires less effort, which is a relief for the player. As a result, the player will have fewer muscle cramps and tensions, and more comfortable playing.

Why Torlon?

Torlon is a material for perfectionists who are looking for:

  • Indestructible durability – a plectrum "for life"
  • Warm, balanced sound with an emphasis on midrange and bass
  • Precise control in technically demanding genres (progressive metal, fusion, jazz)

Torlon is an icon among premium materials – not for everyone, but in the hands of the right guitarist it becomes an irreplaceable tool.

Basic Properties of Torlon

  • Material: Ultra-durable thermoplastic from the polyamide-imide (PAI) group – one of the most durable engineering plastics
  • Thermal resistance: Withstands temperatures above 270°C – exceptional structural stability
  • Mechanical strength: The highest among thermoplastics – resistant to abrasion, cracking, impacts and creep
  • Stiffness: High, with moderate vibration absorption – reduces the "metallic" aftertaste of sound
  • Density: Low (approx. 1.4 g/cm³) – lightweight despite thicker size

Impact on Sound

  • Timbre: Warm, organic tone with emphasized midrange and deep bass, toning down excessive high-frequency sharpness
  • Attack: Precise, but less "glassy" than PEEK or kirinite – more muffled, but clear
  • Dynamic response: Less analytical and more "musical" – ideal for blues and jazz expression

Durability

  • Indestructibility: Virtually indestructible – lasts for years even during intensive play
  • Resistance to deformation: Does not deform under pressure, moisture or time (no creep)
  • String protection: Smooth surface and low friction minimizes string wear

Playability

  • Stiffness: Very stiff – requires precise grip, provides control over dynamics. Ideal for fast techniques (shredding, tapping)
  • Sliding: Smooth surface facilitates sliding over strings – great for sweep picking and arpeggios
  • Ergonomics: Moderate vibration absorption reduces vibrations transferred to the hand, increasing comfort during long sessions
