Material Properties

Torlon (PAI – Polyamide-imide):

• Ultra-durable polymer with the highest thermal (up to 270°C) and mechanical resistance
• Rigidity with vibration absorption — reduces metallic sharpness, introducing warmth and depth
• Resistant to abrasion, cracking and chemicals

Vespel SP-1 (High-performance Polyimide):

• Premium material used in aviation and industry — resistant to temperatures up to 300°C
• Low coefficient of friction and exceptional dimensional stability
• Neutral sound with precise attack and dynamic control

PEEK (Polyetheretherketone):

• High hardness, extreme stiffness — virtually zero deflection
• Abrasion resistance close to Torlon
• Sweat resistant, chemical resistance
• Attack: aggressive and fast with a metallic "ping" in the high notes; bright, clear with excellent sound separation

Effects on Sound

Outer layers (Torlon): Attenuates high frequencies, adding midrange warmth and bass depth. Reduces the "glassy" aftertaste typical of hard materials.

Core (Vespel): Provides crystal clear attack and precise transients, ideal for shredding and tapping. Low friction supports smooth glide over the strings, minimizing noise.

Final effect: Rich, balanced sound — the organic warmth of Torlon combined with the analytical precision of Vespel.
